Increasingly, the field of Science, Technology, and Society (STS) has become interested in topics surrounding pedagogy, the art and craft of teaching. More recently, there have been calls for increased engagement between STS practitioners and critical pedagogy including the opening of a panel on multimodal pedagogy at 4S Amsterdam and calls for chapters from Science, Technology, and Human Values. In this mini-series, we will work collaboratively to learn together about critical pedagogy, as a practice, and explore various different approaches, classroom re/configurations, and activities. Anyone interested in teaching-- and learning about how to navigate the emerging canon of critical STS pedagogy-- to join for bubble tea! This may be people who are graduating soon and interested in academic jobs, people who are currently teaching assistants, or folks looking to integrate new activities and approaches to mentorship. This series is meant to be a low-stakes, come-as-you-are, learning and community building experience -- no need to have a strong background in teaching or pedagogy to join!
