2025 Stanford Existential Risks Initiative Fellowship – Applications Open Now!

Are you passionate about AI safety, nuclear policy, biosecurity, or climate change? Interested in joining a close-knit community of researchers focused on mitigating existential risks?

In Summer 2025, the Stanford Existential Risks Initiative (SERI) will fund 10-week, full-time research projects aimed at addressing existential risks. The program also emphasizes building a community of researchers through speaker events, discussion groups, social gatherings, and more.

Key Details:

  • Duration: 10 weeks (June 23 – August 29, 2025)
  • Eligibility: Open to all current Stanford students (undergraduate and graduate)
  • Stipend: $7,500 for the duration of the program
  • Mentorship: Students will be paired with a mentor (faculty member, postdoc, or industry expert) who will provide weekly guidance on their projects and design.
