Since July of 2011, I've been the Director of the Hagley Library (www.hagley.org), an independent research library in Wilmington, Delaware, and the largest research collection on the history of American business, technology, and industrial design. Before that, I taught the history of technology, American history, and world history at Drexel University for 14 years (1997-2011). Earned my Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania (History and Sociology of Science, 1999), and wrote about systems science (operations research) in the Anglophone world since WWII, with focus on the United States. Currently developing a program that encourages deposits (long-term loans) by historically important businesses and trade associations. Essentially, I'm developing a start-up within a research library.
