Jocelyn is a mixed pinay from Los Angeles who was very unsure about whether to study Earth Systems, Communication, or Anthropology, then found a happy place within the Nature & Environment concentration of STS. She is also studying Education, currently working on a thesis about the perceived importance of play in a preschool located in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. Though her thesis is not in the STS department, the major has supported her research by pushing her to question everything and “problematize what is often taken for granted”- a phrase heard time and time again in STS classes. She hopes to merge STS & Education more concretely next year by pursuing a masters program in Educational Technology/ Media & Education (where?? yeah she doesn't know). Come talk to her about why STS is dope or how it helped her study abroad in Australia or which classes have been cool or really anything besides the turnout of the 2017 World Series.
