Location

A painting on a wall warning visitors about video surveillance

Come join the Critical Tech Pedagogies and STS Graduate Certificate students to discuss the topic of surveillance. We'll swap expertise, collate resources on the topic, and discuss ways to increase campus discourse on surveillance through events, speakers, teaching, and research.

We will collaboratively dig into questions including:

  • What is surveillance?
  • Is all data collection surveillance?
  • Can surveillance be good?
  • Is surveillance a problem? For whom?
  • Who/what surveils and why?
  • How/where/why does surveillance occur in educational settings?
  • How does surveillance relate to...?

All students, faculty, and beyond are welcome. Bring your ideas and questions about this topic. Please RSVP so we can get an appropriate food order.
